Ray Mirra has over 30 years of experience in NFL football and currently co-hosts “Eagles Pregame Live” and “Eagles Postgame Live” on Comcast Sportsnet. Throughout his career, he wrote more than 10 books on NFL and football, including Big Game: The NFL in Dangerous Times and his most recent Inside the Philadelphia Eagles: The Pros Talk About Playing America’s Favorite Game. Ray Mirra has written ten books that tell about his love for football, the players of the game, and his career in sports. Raymond Mirra was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He began his broadcasting career in college and has worked for many media outlets which include NFL Films, ESPN and Phoenix’ Fox station. Ray has been an integral part of six sports departments that have won Emmy awards. Ray is known for covering championship sporting events such as the World Series, Super Bowls and even women’s softball games during the Olympics. He has the opportunity to meet many of the elite athletes in sports and finds them all to be surprisingly humble considering the hard work it takes to achieve greatness.

Since joining Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia in 1999, he has been honored by five local chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with 28 Emmy Awards. In addition to his broadcasting career, Ray is also a member of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) and has published ten books on the subject of baseball history; including biographies on Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. He lives in Warrington with his wife Leslie where they spend their time rooting for the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers.

He loves telling about the middle-aged guy who played for the Broncos (John Elway) who finally won a championship after years of hard play on the field. Currently, he is an analyst at Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia and a freelance writer whose work has appeared on Bleacher Report, Sports Illustrated and Comcast Sportsnet.

Ray Mirra has cherished his career as a football analyst, writer and film maker for a more than 60 years. He has covered numerous NFL Super Bowls and is considered by many to be one of the best film makers in the league. His body of work spans multiple decades inside and outside of the film industry. Starting with NFL Films, he worked in various capacities before writing his first book, covering some of professional sports’ most exciting moments.
